Hello! The Thrillseekers - Synaesthesia (Tom Lue Remix) [Progressive]

Was bored this Saturday morning and woke up with the most crazy urge to remix this classic. I know it's been done to death but please tell me if I should stop butchering classics by remixing them. lol. But seriously, tell me what you guys think.

First track on the player:

Thanks a bunch!

Mix is Ok, only thing that bugs me is the kick, sits a little awkward in the mix

Also the pluck(not the chords) is a little too bland, the chords sounds great tho and percussion is really nice

Yea I'm thinking of using another kick, not sure yet, maybe it's too compressed?

Its cool and I could probably play it for old times sake. I like the super phat kick but its overpowering the mix. Try turning it down a bit. Bass sounds superb. I like the synth at the 1.00 mark I like the melody that comes after it. Its pretty. The sound that comes in at 2.00 I don't like at all. Sounds digital. Come on man you can do way better than this shit.It sounds amateurish. The piano melody that follows is way too wide and has way too much reverb and possibly other effects as well. Turn the verb down a bit. The mix overall sucks and needs lots of work before you can play this out.You play this in the club everything is gonna start shaking. Clashing frequencies all over the place. shit fighting for space. No depth or dimension. Like I said the piano has too much verb and is buried under the electro shit. Low pass that shit make some space for it. Hi pass the pads a bit. Try not layering too much stuff at the same octave. Overall you get some points for the effort and I would def play this out if its fixed because it brings back some good memories but not a candle to the original thrillseekers classic.

So...

- Like the sound of the kick (phat kick) but it is too loud in the mix.
- Like the bass. Superb bass.
- Like the synth work at the beginning
- Good memories from thrillseekers classic.
- Good ideas for a mix.
- Would play if fixed.

but...

- Don't like the sound at the 2.00 mark at all. Nope don't like.
- Not too fond of the electro sound like that it needs to sit in its own space.
- Piano has way to much verb and is muddy and burried.
- Mix needs lots of work.

Ah yes thanks Twilothunder25, yes all very valid points. This is just a rough copy, I haven't gone through the mastering and mixing etc but yea it's going to take a miracle to get this thing all equaled out just right. Definitely got to work on that 2:00 mark, it's killing me too. lol.

Just updated it to the new version, I still need to EQ certain stuff though. Any additional suggestions?

more reverb, on that lead pluck, turn down the white noise fx, and turn up the kick this time (too in the back)

Ah you fixed that evil sound at the 2.00 mark... track sounds much better now. Kick sounds fine. The second part of the track from 3.40 on still needs work but well nothing like a free bootleg I downloaded this track. Cheers

A suggestion... crack your monitors up loud I mean LOUD were it is barely comfortable (don't blow them tho) and throw a rough mix together. If it sounds good on headphones it sounds good loud you're good.

I'm not feeling this one at all, Tom. I honestly think that nothing has been brought to the table bar today's cliched elements. I lost interest rather easily too.

Don't take my words seriously, because I'm not one who's very familiar with this style.
