And yet another musical ace hayling from the Russian Federation. Santerna, a Moscow native, is known for projects on such notable of labels as Song Bird, Neuroscience, Armada, AVA, Mondo, Alter Ego, Solaris and, yours truly, Smu[th]. This time, He hammers down two wicked nails into Smu[th]'s ever-growing framework. The first, called 'Solar Flare', is a fun, whimsical, tasteful dance-floor pleaser with proggy grooves, nice-neat percs and [to-die-for] trancy-esque melodies. The second, called 'Zig Zag', is a forward thinking, tech infused, late night progger with driving percs and elementally rhythmic melodic structures. Alongside the two originals are top-grade interpretations by Johnny Yono, Ken Loi and Liluca, respectively. Johnny Yono throws a can of energetic and tension-filled trancy fuel atop 'Solar Flare'. Whilst Ken Loi calculates an equation of intelligent and awe-inspiring ethereal creativity of which. Lastly, Liluca pulls the techy nature of 'Zig Zag' futher down into the underground realm; whipping up a dark, brooding and hypnotic tech-house cut.
