NI Komplete 7

Seems like mostly positive vibes towards this product.

http://www.native-instruments.com/#...te-7/?page=1516

Anyone have any experience with this product?
More thinking about it because of Absynth 5 and Massive synths.
In addition, Reaktor and Kontakt seems to be quite interesting as well

I am considering between this or spectrasonic omnisphere which is about the same price.

And please don't tell me to torrent both because:
a) I don't have the time and patience
b) I don't have the bandwith
c) I just prefer buying my software

I have Komplete 5 & 6, but I didn't upgrade to K7 because it contains the exact same synths that I have in K6, but just adds a bunch of soundsets that I don't want and a few other goodies (e.g., Deep Freq and The Finger) that I already purchased before K7 was released. So, I just couldn't justify paying the $199 upgrade price for synths I already have and soundsets that I don't want/need. But for someone just getting into Komplete, K7 is an excellent bargain without a doubt.

I also have Omnisphere and love it. Both NI and Spectrasonics have excellent customer support and are constantly updating their products. But, between Komplete 7 and Omnisphere, I'd definitely recommend Komplete. It's just a much more rounded package with Massive, Absynth, and Reaktor, and FM8 for synths, Battery 3 for drums, and Kontakt (sampler), which is among my favorite software instruments of all time. Plus, you start adding Guitar Rig 4 and third-party libraries for Kontakt into the mix and you've got a pretty stellar package.

BTW, those third-party Kontakt libraries can start taking big chunks out of your checking account pretty quickly if you're not careful, but fortunately it comes with a huge and very diverse sample library.

I got k3 and a free upgrade to k4. It was well worth it for me because I got Reaktor, battery, kontakt, absynth, massive, FM8, pro 53, vokator and spektral delay. So I had sampling, FM, VA and weird stuff well covered.

Really, for powerhouse synthesis and atmospheres and textures, as well as sampling, NI leads the game. But since they discontinued pro 53 they don't really cover VA stuff any more. They don't have what you'd call a "warm" sort of synth, or a workstation type thing that you can go to for many sounds like omnisphere.

For ready to use stuff, omnisphere is the best. Its like one of the old korg or roland workstations, but far more customisable, deep and higher quality.

So basically, its apples and oranges. NI will give you all the sampling tools you need (if not all the samples). It'll also give you a decent selection of synths of various flavours (massive, FM8, absynth) as well as Reaktor, which is a whole synthesis and sampling toolbox of its own. What NI won't cover you for is VA synths (look at arturia instead) or a good workstation synth (loook at omnisphere). I'd get komplete first because it'll give you the wider range of tools to work with in the short term, even if you'd like omnisphere in the long term.

Komplete is a must have. I use it in varying degrees on almost everything and I've not even scratched the surface yet.

the price is quite fair considering you have pretty much everything you need to do to make most kinds of music. Great package.
