Hey, I've noticed that there's a rattling sound coming from inside the subwoofer box. I have KRK 10". I never really noticed the rattle before. I moved pretty much everything out of the room to make sure it's the sub and not something else in the room. It isn't the actual speaker either. I did send the sub in the mail when I was moving over the summer... I hope that's not the cause. I'll go check with a local store and see what they say. Any one else had this prolem before?.

Open it, and try to locate the sound's specific location while it is playing something, obviously I don't have to tell you not to touch anything when its plugged in.

normally shit gets loose with time or use... tighten everything up including the amp screws and general enclosure screws.

btw I don't have your sub, this is just typically one thing you can do.

Maybe this is a stupid question but should I unplug it, open it, plug it back in and play to see what's rattling?. I just don't know how else to see what the cause is if it's not playing. That should be safe right?

Yea unplug then do all the unscrewing, make sure all the wires stay connected and nothing new is touching anything else new... btw if the noise diminishes (along with the signal) you have to consider that the krk box really needs to be closed to reproduce high spl. Does the rattle normally come in at low volume or does the box need to be pumping loud? Also does it come in only at certian frequencies? try those frequencies when testing it out again.

Its a brutes game at this point just try to find whats loose (seeing as how it isn't the speaker or room btw i'm not an expert just trying to help. If all else fails get it to someone who knows whats up

My speaker is ruined now... I don't think I was supposed to unscrew anything on my own. There are some screws that won't go back in, now it rattlles like crazy...

Always when opening anything make sure you remember how to close it...

Not sure what to tell you mate it's not supposed to be hard. Also it's possible that you didn't screw things tight enough when putting things together or miss aligning any of the internal plates that hold things together. Maybe you should just get it over to someone who knows whats up.

oh also your speaker isn't ruined, it needs to be put back together properly...

yeah i think it's best left to hands other then mine. The thing is i dont have a warrenty any more and to mail it around to get a quote takes too long. I think I'll just get a new one. thanks though
