Not gonna start that can of worms here.
The people who we tend to call Founding Fathers were Deists not Protestant Christians, not Atheists, not Catholics, not Jews, not Fundamentalist Christians, Deists. Not gonna say anything further about this in this thread.
I was speaking of being respectful of culture in the sense of being a part of cultural norms for holidays unless you have a reason not to (I can think of plenty that people have).
I visited Temples and Shrines while I lived in Japan but that does not mean that I had to pay respect to the Japanese emperor.
Merry Christmas, Giftmas, or Saturnalia, the point is just to enjoy the day with Family and Friends during the coldest part of the year.
