Ok so I'm an IT incompetent dicksplash, I admit it.

I make this call for help in the belief some of you here are whizzes with IT.

I'd like to start with creating a pro looking banner I can use in my signature for example here on TA.

I did a Google search on banner creation and a million options crowded in on me.


So number 1 question, what site / resource would you use to make such a banner and how would you then get it into your signature (or wherever it's supposed to fit) here on TA?

Photoshop? I'm sure there are plenty of good tutorials out there but it's not something I've done myself.

Something like this might provide a good starting point, but I'm guessing you might want to change the content (unless you're keen on butterflies).

Agree, but if you would like to add (like MySpace banner) hot spots or links to it, I would use Fireworks (from Adobe) and export as html (but this is probably not what you are asking), so stick with PhotoShop, is easy and simply enough to do it yourself.
