correct me if i'm wrong, im a newbie. but i always thot cheese was associated with uplifting tracks. i guess a lot of them are anthems too. wut is cheese? i thot i liked cheese, but now im not so sure. enlighten me!

well people do refer to epic/uplifting trance as cheese. but its not. thats just their opinion not a fact. whats being talked about here are songs that really are cheesy. like alice deejay. and sonique(who cant sing and dance? i dont know if we can call what that girl does dancing) hope that helps

I would consider cheesy trance that of extremely annoying vocals. Most vocals have their place, but those, like bullet in the gun just make me cringe.

not all cheese is bad. hi-gate for example, the cheese is spread thinly and evenly so it doesn't make you choke

yah the launch is pretty cheesy. and dj jean really sukks, he still plays that shitty trak. he just came to vancouver and played a shitty remix in both the club and the radio station that night.

ahh well...i bet lotsa ppl out there enjoy that track cause it's commercialized. though it is major cheese, he did quite well with it and it seconded as a doorway for many people into the whole trance scene. alot of people i know love that track, but hey cheese can be good in many ways.

though i can't stand hearing that track played even one way through. hopefully for him...the crowd still moves to it...

I think that the trance that borders on dance and gets marketed as dance on dance compilations causes trance to become cheese as everyone will play it to death.

and I totally agree that Epic trance is not cheesy trance. Epic trance is supposed to move your soul ie not stuff you delete off your harddrive after a couple of listens (or never listen to again)
