Worm Popper Looking for Recommendations regarding specific Genres

Hi Guys,

I am looking for recommendations on what you beleive to be the "best" in their specific Genre of Music.

Ok by this i mean the following:

I am looking for tracks that you guys would say are the epitomy of any given genre. By this i mean the very best in the following areas:

1. Shows the Genre at its best in regards to Production Level
2. Shows the Genre at its best in regards to Musicality - IE if you where to go out to a club/party this is the type of music you would like to hear all night the type of tracks that you ONLY hear when your out and some DJ plays "those awesome tunes"

The reason i am doing this is i am looking for High Quality versions of all the genres below to use as high quality "Reference Tracks" for mixing/mastering and would appreciate your input

Many thanks,

Mark

GENRES

Psychadelic Trance
Progressive Psy Trance
Psychadelic Dub

Trance (Like Tiesto and the likes)

Drum N Bass

Electro

House
Tech House

Breakbeat
Tech Breaks

Please feel free to add any others i may have forgotten as i am open to anything in the Dance scene however nothing too mental like GABBA :P

I'm not sure exactly what genre this is but it's amazingly produced and written. One of my absolute favorite songs.

For clean uncluttered MINIMAL, I'd say this fella and track as it shows just what a tight minimal mix with only a few musical elements can do in the right hands;

This might qualify as tech-house, i'm so out of the loop for what's being labelled what, but this a great song overall in my opinion.

ive only heard about trance, house, breakbeat and drumnbass. the only thing missing is techno. everything else in edm is a mix of those.
i have to say though, i dont see the point with the thread in production studio. maybe in music discussion forum but thats another story.

Hey Guys thanks for the links, helped me loads, much appreciated

ken_Lee - the reason this is in production studio is that the tracks are Reference tracks for each specific genre to be used in the final mix and mastering stages of mines (and more accurately students) production process.

thanks again guys,

Mark

id be careful using whatever tracks other people comes up with as reference though. find your own, your favorite tracks would be your best references for you. just a thought, i think u are doing it wrong now. what will happen if we all (as we probably will) just post some random crappy songs?

ken_lee - you dont think i am just going to download every track people recommend and use them blindly (or deafley) do you?

Its simply to get recommendations from people who may listen to and experience other genres more than i do.

Off-course i have a full set of Reference material all ready, but every now and then i like to update my Reference material, doesnt every producer

Thanks guys

Mark
