i listened to part 1. i'm part of the ancien regime of glowstick hooligans, so understand when i say i don't like this music.
but, this review is about the mix itself, and a lot of these kinds of mixes have been popping up within the past 2 years.
the intro would have been very good if there was no talking giant. the melody was class tho. it's too bad this trance can't sustain a a section for longer than 2minutes without some sort of break -- your mixing took advantage of this to match up the tracks, tho. track selection is decent, you do alot of interesting stuff, but again, its not really sustained for any period of time longer than 1 minute without a break or a drop coming. and the music is not to blame, cuz if you are behind the virtual Ableton decks, then you can cut and splice to keep a melody or groove going. if you gonna be doing this kinda intricate mix at home, microediting for hours, then take advantage of that, and use all the tricks you can think of to keep it going.
still, the best part is prolly when the breakbeat starts around 18min til about 22min, a nicely sustained section.
for the technical stuff -- watch the levels, cuz if you look at the waveform in soundcloud, you can see it going up and down with big differences in dynamics between tracks. when i was listening, there was a bunch of times when a track dropped and the overall volume BOOMed in response. a similar problem is that you tend to mix alot of melodic sections together, but either the levels are off, or the tracks clash, cuz distortion/masking is prominent.
anyway, good luck with future projects.
