How does this kick sound? Think I finally got that pro sounding low end.

Disregard the bassline as it still needs a lot of work to make it move better (and percussions too its just a loop). But I put it in there just to show how well the kick comes through.
I know the kick is likely overpowering the mix but it needs to be that way for when I add a sub at which point I'll mix it down so it doesn't swallow the sub completely. Its 2 samples layered, but most of my kicks don't even come close to this one in terms of loudness/presence.

I like it a lot and it also seems to work great with different basslines and keys. Like it just works really well for some reason. I need an objective ear though does it sound professional? Even in the begining when its hipassed it has somewhat of a low end, then after bar 16 you can feel it slam when the filter is cut out.

I like it. Unsurprisingly your .flp showed up as corrupted though, I guess FL8 just can't open later files like these.

I may toy around with the samples you gave me though, it sounds like it has potential.

Yeh I had told Ky last night the only thing I didn't like was the tail so I definitely plan on getting rid of it.

Thats good advice about the mid/low end exactly what I was looking for. My main focus was the low end & attack phase so I'll take a better look at the mids now.

And orphanchild you jealous bitch, go back to sticking your cock in the analog ins of your new JP aka cheesemachine. It makes a phatter sound I promise.

(@BeatFlux) I guess you could say that yeh. But I tend to model artists who have mastered the fm bassline and tyas seems to prefer the phased out saw basslines which I despise.
Its just a copout tactic to make a bass move imo. He even said it in his FM interview when he had a boring/static sounding bass and said "ok now we're going to throw a phaser over the bassline to give it some movement". But the problem is he ALWAYS fucking does that. And it ruins his tracks imo.

Eventually when I learn how to make my basses really move (I'm not talking about in your face bouncing but more that static type of instablity like you hear in Bluemans - Sea Tides) then I'm going to start introducing some more tribal sounds in my intros. It will be a weird blend eventually of tribal drums/fm styled bass/and massive breaks. Although I don't want that clean and epic orchestral sound at all. I'm much more into dirtier/distorted sounds. Anytime I mention Blueman its in direct reference to his fm bass, not his violins/melodies and what not. My "style" likely won't reveal itself for another 5 years or so. At least in the context of a completed track. I just got to much shit to learn still.

Thanks, are you layering your kicks or no?
Yours has a nice clean punch to it but I like mine to have a more unforgiving low end. Like I need to know that even at a low level and before processing that no sound is going to try dominating it.

The one you posted has a similar dynamic to the oompa loompa kick lol.

In my opinion its alright. I think you should eq some more bass into it, it sounds a bit dry, but it defiantly has that club-banging in your face trance feel.
