Also try layering several other basslines at a much lower volume with different different low frequency modulation settings only playing at certain notes. That helps with the groove, and gives the listener an impression that something is subtly moving through the track while not sacrificing the repetiveness which adds to the listener a predictable groove and rhythm to move with.

Thanks I've been trying to finish up this internship lately (at a senior center lol) and between that and work just haven't had a lot of time. But when I get home later I'll definitely get a sample up.

I'm using z3ta again btw, for anyone using sytrus I'm not sure you can automate the modulator as its in the matrix and the matrix can't be automated. But I'm pretty sure you can do it with z3ta or v-station.

We were hosting an event not too long ago for mothers day and had a singer come in to sing to all the decrepid elderly members. So she got up and started singing and ZOMG it wuz the WORST form of distortion I've ever heard in my life coming out the speakers.
The woman was a great singer, singing oldies, but for w/e reason her voice was getting horribly distorted and noone could figure out what was going on. Theres a smoking hot girl who works there too (social worker - straight dark hair, perfect c sized breasts, tight ass) and she couldn't fix it, got the director of the center and she couldn't fix it. Asked the singer if she knew what was causing the distortion and the singer didn't know. We wound up listening to that shit for about 25mins straight untill I looked at the meter on the amp and saw the entire time she was singing it was slamming into the red.
But the amp was only turned up like 60% which was odd (I don't know shit about DJ equipment so this was my first time fucking around with it). Anyway of course I go up to the hot social worker and say "do you have any idea whats causing the problem?". She says "are you telling me or asking me"? I said "I'm making you an offer". She laughed. I wanted to bang her so hard. Right in front of all the elderly. Anyway she asks what the offer is, I tell her "I'll fix that machine and save this event from a total disaster if you give me your number".

She had to confirm "wait so if you fix it you just get my number and thats it?" I said "no, I get your number and a date bitch (totally made the bitch part up for dramatic effect)". Long story short she writes her number down and says "go fix it". I walk up to the amp, turn the volume down so the meters out of the red, distortion goes away, I save the day. Get the smoking hot social workers number, and now have a date!!!!
The problem couldn't have been any simpler but 3 women had tried and failed to fix it, even the fucking singer for christs sake. As much as we talk about clipping on here and distortion it was the first thing that came to my mind when I saw the meter. So I owe this forum a date is the whole point.

WHo will be the lucky fellar to take Dj Robby Rox out on a date? I prefer to be spoiled so please have a nice car. =]
