this topic isn't even debatable...
you start out with 18-22 yr.old KIDS, then you have no salary, no sponsors or advertisment, march madness, and your fans are also 18-22 yr. old KIDS.
on the other hand you have greedy, selfish, superstars, only worried about their bling and salary, and if your club can generate enough money to hold down big headed superstars like kobe and shaq, then you too can win a 3-peat in this league.
i mean we're talking about pure basketball vs. something that's been diluted with too much money. think about all the college players that left early just to get a taste of this money. yea, we would all love to be filthy rich, but competition without the sponsors or endorsements or the salaries is so pure.

I think the topic is debatable, if you want pure fundementals than you watch college, but if you want a more exciting and entertaining game you watch nba. Oh and you need more than 2 stars to win a championship, before phil jackson arrivied the lakers had a few years with kobe + shaw were they didnt make it out of round 1. And because the nba has a working salary cap unlike baseball you cant just go out and buy a team.

whoaaa, nba is more exciting than college...you gotta be kidding me. there is no way nba finals are more exciting than march madness. and true you can't buy a team, but you can't tell me that money doesn't influence how good of a team you have...try telling that to the high school seniors that skip college to go to the pros because of money. or even telling that to all the college students that left early becasue they weren't "bought" out
then you have stars like allen iverson, and jayson williams that think they can get away with anything because they are now super stars and make so much freaking money that the law can't touch them. it's sad to see these college kids go early just to be rich |
Hmm, Your right the finals were boring as hell, but the kings/lakers series was great. If there had been consistent officiating it would be one of the best in a long time. And sure moneys important to them, but its important to everyone, I'd skip college too if i was going to be gaurenteed tons of cash.
@The law, wernt a bunch of college players charged with rape earilier this year? Its really no different, Iverson got in lots of trouble as a kid I understand, and he faces 2 misdemeter charges right now, so apparently he either can get away with it, or didnt do anything :P. Regardless players off the feild behaveor doesnt mater to me as far as the game I'm watching.
College players are more mature in that its not all about money, but as players there not. During March Madness I remember cringing so many times when they would run down the court shoot the three miss, and do it again, not really setting up the offense or having any sort of system.
