What instrument is this?

First of all I'm fairly certain this is the wrong forums for this question so I'm sorry for that, but since this question isn't about electronic music in particular I figured I'd ask it here.

I watched Kung Fu Panda 2 yesterday (great movie btw ). Anyway, I think the soundtrack of the movie is awesome and there's one part in particular that I think is just incredible (roughly 0:24-0:54 in the youtube link below), and I was wondering if anyone can tell me what the instrument that's being used is. The instrument in question starts playing at about 0:37 in the background and it's probably at it's clearest at about 0:47-0:53. I'm really having a hard time explaining how it sounds further, but I think it sounds beautiful and I'd really like to know. The song in question can be found in the link below.

You'll want to ask Looney4Clooney that, here:

There are a host of instruments playing, though, and you may need to be more specific. If it's not in your typical orchestral line-up it may be a Chinese Flute, called a Dizi, (which sounds sort of like the flute part continuing some time after the time window, you used to highlight.)

shakuhachi , asian flute. Those sound effects are overblow fx similar to a normal flute but they sound super ninja.

first non asian soundtrack to have it and not signify anything oriental ?

my guess is Commando's score by horner.

it actually makes an appearance in this scene but i posted just because for some reason i remember the scene being awesome as a kid. I guess you had to be there .

the dizi was a good guess. The range just goes to low for that one tho. There is also the Bansuri but not really something common to western composers. It has a tone quite similar to the flute mentioned above. Less nasal than the dizi and less breathy than the shakuhachi.
