Decided to make another one of these. Heh, no, nothing recent to 'inspire' me, just had some tunes I wanted to make use of in a mix floating about for a while. I finally had some spare time to whip this up in an afternoon.
Once again, the theme of this particular mixtape is music to ease one out of post-raving comedowns. This time, however, the poor listener indulged in something that was stronger than they anticipated, with unsettling, creeping paranoia claiming their mind. It is similarly structured like my previous Drift... mixtape, with beatless moods and tones segueing into downtempo bliss, finally capping off with earthly reggae vibes (and, of course, a 'namesake' track at the end ). I didn't want to indulge in another 2+ hour set, thus only a few minutes under 90 for this one.
As always, comments/critiques are welcomed, encouraged even!
Track List:
1. Cypher 7 - Conspiracy Of Silence
2. Escape - Trip To Polaris
3. Divination - Silent Fields

7. Asura - Halley Road
8. L.S.G. - Bengal Rose

nice mix bud, listnd to this one today. some of the later tracks i thought were out of place..the last fruity track was awesome. very chilled trance makes me want to take pills, ignore the getting high bit and coming down.
good shizzles, your mixes are quite good, i have another one of yours on the laptop, i play that one while commencing slumber. the gf loves that shit.

Yeah, I just can't seem to knock that "out of place" habit of mine. It's like, the only way I feel a mix is complete is by throwing something totally unexpected in there. Maybe it comes from listening to all those ambient dub compilations from the early 90s that would do the same thing.
Glad you enjoyed it though!

i liked this one a lot, you have a knack with pulling these kind of mixes off and i think it's you and sand leaper who do it best. probably mixmaster morris and francios k as well but when talking about the ta community, you two are top dogs at it. i loved it when shineheads version of billie jean (afavourite track of mine) came on and i loved the fact that it's followed up with a whole section of airy, dubby and melodic techno and whatnot and it just makes sense. right fucking on mate. the whole mix is quality, this is definantly something for these late evenings that summer brings us. or some pretentious bollocks like that.

Man, I really need to check back on these threads more often. I just may end up missing some comments. Tho', it figures the better I've gotten at making these sets, the fewer comments I seem to get.
And damn, never thought I'd be considered a 'top dog' of any sort with regards to DJing. Granted, what I do really isn't DJing as most do around here, so maybe I simply stand out more for providing such unique sets.
