BT is threatening to kick users of P2P applications off its broadband service, citing copyright abuse.

Last week, Reg reader Robert Brown received a letter from the BTBroadband abuse team accusing him of distributing copyrighted material via his account.
OK, this is BT Openwound, but how long before the other ISPs follow? There are no doubt many BTO customers here at TA, has anyone had similar experiences?
It's hard to tell where BTO are just rolling over and letting the EU fuck them with their Corporate Welfare policies (main beneficiaries being the Recording Industry Assholes of America and their European counterparts) or whether they find it a lovely way to reduce bandwidth consumption while being able to say "don't blame us, it's the law!".
A bit of both probably.

I'm temping at BTOW at the moment, and some guy who called today had, had his account ceased because of distributing copyright material. I didn't relaise it covered things like MP3s. Anyway we had a good laugh on the phone about how much BTOW suck and then I realised that the supervisors had been monitoring calls all day *gulp*
