Tiesto is very well known for the pounding remixes he did for the lost treasures series. That's why I'm so surprised to hear a totally different Tiesto on this CD. Most Dj's are spinning harder and harder tracks, while Tiesto's moving more towards trance on this CD.

Magik Mushroom effect?
He sounds a little bit like Paul van Dyk. The beginning is very trancy, at times you find yourself dreaming away. It's not that the pass/tempo is so low, but everything just sounds 'dreamy'. They aren't the latest of records either, not that it matters, since each and every track's beautiful, but I just noticed.

The first time you listen to the CD, you're expecting tiesto to 'rip it up', but the SECOND time is pure bliss, enjoyin the beatiful basslines, and the superb 'laidback' strings and loops. Great!

Magik is an 'old fashioned' trance CD, very well mixed, good mastering (as one can expect from Barney Broomer of Sonic One), and it's refreshing compared to all the other available compilations.
