Seriously that gated pad is unreal, than it goes to utter shit plinky bollocks.
Skip to 3.25, turn off once the beat drops back in.

You know I nearly put in a little "inb4 every trance tune ever, lol!11!one". But strangely I thought we'd have moved past such silliness.

What's your problem with that track? Sounds like every progtrance track around that time. Or just listen to the Perry O' Neil remix which is better anyways.

You just answered your own question.
There are a lot of examples of shit tunes with great breakdowns in drum 'n bass and dubstep, where the breakdowns typically contain atmospheric loveliness before an inevitable drop into filthy bass stupidity. With trance I tend to get the opposite - good tracks ruined by stupid breakdowns.
I'll go with the following track. The track is more mediocre than terrible, depending on your opinion on the vocal, but the breakdown really is very inventive, and deserves to be in a less generic track:
Also, when I opened this video in another tab it beatmatched perfectly with the OP track.

Levels is...decent...damn better than a lot of the shite dominating the charts at the moment. It sounds absolutely nothing like...a billion and one similar tracks in this big-room style. I always had a soft spot.

Tbh, this track is quite decent imo and indeed the breakdown is the best part.
I was about to give an example of a shitty track (new one) with a nice breakdown but i changed my mind, cause you guys would rape me or eat me alive

I love how back in 2004, everyone hated McProg and lamented how far downhill trance had gone, and now everyone's nostalgic about it.
