Why do YOU post about EDM (or other EDM) in a TRANCE Forum?
I think it's a legitimate question. I imagine there are other sites and forums for EDM of other styles.
But let me be clear, this is not meant to be a volatile thread. It is just an open-ended question for anyone who cares to share their thoughts.

because of this reason: this forum may have been a place to talk about trance, but over a period of time (given that the face that this forum is 13 years old) people started branching out into all sorts of electronic music.

Believe me if there were any other place to go I'd gladly GTFO.
The internet is full of niche communities, since trance is a niche that's pretty much dead you can actually find some interesting cross-genre discussions here from the people that were forced to move on over the years.
a) trance fucking sucks now b) many people that used to listen to trance listen to other genres now c) these days people that are new to trance go to other places instead of this forum d) most other sites and forums suck balls

Bierhold, I can understand the cross-genre discussions that are primarily Trance posts. I think that's a very valid point.

Look at it this way, when you're in a niche community everyone likes the same stuff and apart from a few marginal squabbles it will generally consist of lovely-dovelike circle jerks and endless youtube embeds. When you eventually want to move on due to overexposure you will have learned nothing and are probably forced to find another hobby altogether or spend the rest of your time complaining about the state of affairs whilst drowning your pain with precious nostalgia and memories about how things used to be.
In something like this community however, you'd (ideally) get a lot of different interests bound together in a volatile mixture. People will have to make appeals justifying why there taste is the way it is, their views constantly being challenged forcing them to look at a wider perspective. All in all a much more interesting and rewarding way to spend your time.
