Mine: Xmas morning 1981. I was 4 and was ecstatic because I had just had 'Santa' dump all the Star Wars figures I had asked for under the tree.
As Xmas morning went on, my dad stuck on his new l.p my mum had got him which was Oxygene by Jean Michelle Jarre.
He joined in with me for a bit while I was playing with my Star Wars figures and for some reason, the atmospheric space-esque synths are etched in my brain while me and my Dad re-enacted Vader & Obi-Wans lightsaber duel. I can remember thinking "wooooowwwwww" when it was all going on. Surreal almost.
Would be interesting to hear other experiences and why you believe that particular track is the first track you remember.
Does the first track we remember have significant consequence in our unconscious sub-conscious?
I was 3-4, don't really have memories of what was going on at the time I heard this song, just remembered that I liked this a lot and that it was a big hit back then.

Levels is...decent...damn better than a lot of the shite dominating the charts at the moment. It sounds absolutely nothing like...a billion and one similar tracks in this big-room style. I always had a soft spot.

However, EDM seems to be political for some people - it's not about the music itself but it's about what the music symbolises, where the music came from, who spins it and how obscure it is.
