Doing kick layering and a few other things I'm trying to focus on getting a little more polished.

I like the tune quite a bit! Very ethereal vibes, but I think the mix is a bit wonky. I'll get back to you on that tomorrow when I can listen with my monitors.

You're getting a lot better at transitional elements and having things move and progress.

Something definitely needs to change at 2:01 though. Starts to get repetitive.

Mix wise it's a bit dense and wooden and the kick is drowned mate.
The mid bass is too loud and wooden for my ears.

I agree with Richard, the kick needs some work. While layering kicks can be good, sometimes it is easier to find a decent sample that is close to what you want and then edit that but I guess it depends sometimes I layer kicks sometimes I don't. As already mentioned it is quite far back in the mix volume wise and gets drowned out.

Awesome transition at the start to bring everything in! The bass needs to be tidied up as well more eq work to cut out the offending frequencies.

Although the melody changes a bit I think the intro is too long, maybe go into a breakdown or start a transition to a breakdown at the 2:01 mark.

Overall you have got some really neat ideas but the mix needs some work, I would spend the most time focusing on eqing the instruments individually AND in regards to the mix until you get everything sitting nicely together. Also if you have any delay or reverb try cutting the low frequencies from them to try and clean it up even more.

Nice work

good example of groove you mentioned to me. I wont comment on the mix because these other guys clearly know the deal but as far as the music is concerned I really like it. nice one

Thanks. Just waiting to see if people follow up on their feedback with this newer mixdown. I think it could use some more FX elements (I always lack that... grr). So yeah. Glad you like it though.

Sub bass is still quite overpowering and clashes a lot and covers up the lows of the kick in saying that though the bass sounds more controlled.

Nice melody man, transition at 1:00 was a little too sudden for my liking maybe filter out some elements first and have a white noise swoosh. I didn't really understand the point of having that break, you had good momentum when everything was first brought in and then it didn't have any impact when the bass came back in.

The lead is a tad muddy and the track could have a few more higher instruments, maybe an arp an octave higher than the lead. Transition at around 2:50 was a bit too sudden for me again.

Bass kind of came out of nowhere in the breakdown, also the melody hadn't changed enough during the breakdown. I think the melody could be more complex or use a different lead sound, just something to switch it up.

Main sounds pretty good, lead is still a little fizzy maybe pull back a tad on the white noise layer.

Bass sounds a bit weird on my monitors, seems to distort a little as well.

You made a good amount of improvements though but still needs a fair amount of work. I hope some of that helps you out, keep at it

Thanks for the proper feedback! It does help. That lead is a white noise osc and a saw osc, the white noise gives it the percussive feel. I have plenty of room to experiment so introducing other elements would be a good call at this point. Great feedback, well done! Thank you.
