Bassnectar Timestretch Intro effect

Hey all, I was wondering if anyone recognizes what sort of effect is being used on the intro to this track.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5M-jOZRe0-8

My first guess was that it was a Timestretch effect, but I'm not entirely sure. It sounds like it's being reversed.

I have a single, 8 bar midi note, that I'm trying various things with.

I'm using an instance of Massive with Ableton live, if that helps.

any and all insight is appreciated =)

cheers

It's easier to hear at 2:18. It almost sounds like a dramatic tremolo effect. Could that be all it is, or is there more involved?

I'mma try it XD

For anyone interested in the results that I got.

I simply used the Auto Pan feature (Audio Effects) in Ableton live 8 to achieve a very similar effect to the one in this song.

Cheers =)

Seriously? This is one of the most basic effects there is...

Glad you figured it out though, always better than someone else showing you.

Is he on about the predelay-stereo reverb effect? What the hell is he trying to achieve?

Try with a stereo delayed hall reverb, with a mixed, reversed and dry, signal. Set the reversed- straight ratio louder on the left channel.

Funny how you say it's one of the most basic effects there is, and I'm only now getting replies a week after making this thread.

Lunar Phase 7: I don't really see what you're so confused about. I've pointed out twice, the exact sound I'm looking for. You have a strange attitude lol.

Anyways, I've managed to create a sound that will work for what I need it for. Not exactly the same, but it does sound nice. =)
