best hardware synth for bass sounds around $500?

hey guys,

Ive been getting some good results with vsti's but I am in the mood to have some fun and experiment with an old hardware synth purely for bass sounds, any recommendations? Im looking to spend around $500, give or take. Preferably something with knobs and sliders.

cheers,

DSI MoPho. Should find one second hand for that price.

For bass sounds exclusively, the Waldorf Pulse is a great deal. It's modeled after the MiniMoog and although it doesn't sound as good, it's fat as hell and way better than the MoPho and any digital synth from Roland.

Also, you may be able to get a Nord Lead 2 rack for around $500 (not the Nord Lead 2x).

how do you give advice knowing you have absolutely no insight on synthesizers other than the 2 you've owned for a few months. I don't think you will find one producer that would list the jp 8080 as a synthesizer one would use for bass.

bad advice is worse than no advice. do you honestly think your advice was informed in any way ? I just don't get why you would purposefully give bad advice unless you are an idiot or an attention whore.

no. I think you make a stupid suggestion not knowing what the fuck you are talking about and retracted your suggestion by saying it was a joke to save face. WHy are you bullshiting me. You just bought a jp 8080 flaunting how great it is then suggest it here. You also ask whether to buy 2 of the worst synths on the planet. I mean honestly, what possible indication have you given that would make any rational person see that as a joke. You just fuck with earnest noobs trying to get good solid advice.

There should be a three strike rule to discourage people that do not know what the fuck they are talking about to not share their bad advice.

Line level ? what does that even mean. To most it would mean the level of a line which makes no fucking sense when you use it the way you do.

Could you at least put a disclaimer that you are a noob and your advice is most likely wrong. I would be ok with you sharing your opinions in this case.
