Nice setup Bob (are you Ian in the piccy?).
You mentioned hard times, well here's something I wonder about. Often Future Music run articles on new studio's opening, and the new owners don't mention the economic lendscape so I think either they are deluded, or juts very good at grabbing new business.
One in fact is in Manchester, a huge great thing with a massive live area (sorry I can't recall the name) that said it had quickly attracted several high profile bands.
Also I had a stern debate on a general discussion forum (moneysavingexpert - general discussion section) with this guy who was running a study of the music business as part of his Uni course and he said I was totaly wrong thinking studios were a declining business. He said I was too influenced by neg heads who didn't know what the business was really like.

Yep that's me
Times are definitly hard. A big studio in manchester has recently shut down (moulin rouge).
However there's always new startups for those with more money than sense, a multi million pound complex has opened recently near the city centre which is probably the one your talking about. Next level above us sadly...
Will get my showreel of mastered tracks uploaded tonight for you to listen too.
Cheers
