What's there to do in San Diego?

Hello All Mighty TA'ers.

I'll be heading over to San Diego on this weekend. What's there to do? Any places I must check out? I'm not talking about clubs, as I'm pretty familiar with them, I'm talking about just being a tourist for a day. lol

Thanks!

If you're with the wife/girlfriend go down to Ocean Beach at night for a nice walk. As far as activities, downtown, Gaslamp District and Ocean Beach peninsula are always popping on the weekends. If you're a football fan you'll be out of luck because they have a strict Chargers only rule in the bars for safety reasons (GO RAIDERS!!!)

I miss SD so much. So many fun things to do that don't involve spending money (But I enjoy just walking around pretty places)

That sounds awesome to me. Any suggestions? Every time I go is for a gig or a club so I never get to see the city, but this time I'm taking the wife for her first time in SD.

Where are you staying? If your downtown you should go to Seaport Village it is by the Hyatt. Or you go over to Mission Beach by the roller coster and walk the boardwalk. Or go to Cabrillo National Monument. Awesome lookout spot and a great place to take pictures. We would always take out of town family to this spot. Another spot is in La Jolla by the Cove/Children's pool...you can look at the seals.

I totally forgot about Balboa Park. If you don't want to spend any money on the museums you can just walk around. Also, Old Town is pretty cool. You can go to the Whaley House which is supposed to be haunted.

Kate O Sessions park in PB has in my opinion the best view in the city. If you feel like just sitting out in the sun for a while and relaxing I definitely recommend there.

Balboa Park is really nice. Lots of great museums and overall a nice area to visit. Theres a lot of nice beaches but the weather is too cold for that now.

Go to Extraordinary Desserts after dinner. The place is amazing. I always take the wife there when we hit up SD.

Balboa park is great, especially if the weather cooperates. We rented bikes from a shop in Gas Lamp. We took the ferry to Coronado and rode all around Balboa Park.

The USS Midway is also worth checking out. Walking out on the flight deck is pretty cool.

Have a great weekend.

Hodad's is so good. One of the best local burger joints.
