I saw Tiesto at the Area 2 festival at DTE in Clarkston outside of Detroit. There was a very small croud, probably 100-150 people. For the start I was right in front about a foot away from the turntables, it was funny to see Tiesto jamming to Dieselboy, behind the curtain, Carl Cox was dancing backstage. They set up 2 Pioneer CD players as well as the turntables. He set up all of his records on a diagonal in the box and also brought out a CD case. He played Obsession and Umek Lenicor on CD, I know for sure those 2, and he played more on CD but I wasn't paying attention the whole time. I thought that was strange that he would play CDs.
He played his usual recent tracks, Say Yes, Mass Effect: Plasma, Umek - Gatex, Lethal Industry, In my Memory (V-one), that was his last track.
It was cool when he finished, there was no stop to the music, Digweed mixed right into his set.
He went out to the crowd and took pictures and signed autographs, I didn't get his autograph, he was coming towards where I was and he motioned toward the speaker, like it was too loud, I only wanted him to sign my ticket, but I felt bad for the guy next to me, he was holdong up a shirt and marker for the whole time.
Overall, I thought it was great, he did a lot more mixing and effects than I have heard, and I could see him doing everything so that was cool. The only problem was it was too f*cking loud, a lot of the tracks sounded distorted, escpecially In My Memory. I left during Digweeds set because it was was just ridiculus.
