Pretty cool device made in 1998 and apparently not available anywhere but it's basically a 4 voice polyphony version of the original Nord Modular engine. The dimensions are 8"x 5" so it's like you can throw that shit in your backpack or even the pants pocket of those jeans that wannabe g-bangers wear NAH MEAN. PC/Mac patch editor though it interfaces through MIDI not usb... I'm sure this thing sounds immense. Would really like to get one but they don't appear to be available anymore. Found some other cool shit though
Again, this thing must sound huge. Monophonic analog synthesizer. 1 voice from the Prophet 08 for like $200. Really interested in these kinds of (portable) sound modules they look to be mostly affordable and a nice edition to the studio or live show. Wouldn't hurt to just have some sweet-looking bass module that you can rock out on during a set, this is the kind of gear that gets you laid
the virus snow belongs here too... maybe these things aren't totally practical though... it would be better if they ran on batteries or at the very least USB powered. Too many fucking chords it's not worth the wall-wart to power such a small device. I'm hoping we see more stuff like this being manufactured in the future. Not sure of the technical limitations on this but a bluetooth interfaced micro-synth that runs on a rechargeable battery/USB connection sounds way badass. It's like a small external engine driving the sound, way less stress on the CPU. Run it through the pre-amps on your audio interface = PHAT sound. Pretty sure I could collect these things for the rest of my life. Any others that you know of? I found a battery-powered synth actually, the Roland Gaia but it looks questionable. There should be more of a market for tabletop synths imo.

Doepfer Dark Energy is purty badass:
...and I don't think any of the synths mentioned so far can compete with the Evolver:
Chimera bc16
And these two have been around a while, but don't get as much love as they deserve IMO:
Sonar Platinum | Ableton Live 9 | Logic Pro X | Access Virus TI2 Keyboard | Kurzweil PC3X | Nord Lead 4R | NI Maschine

The Blofeld seems to get quite good reviews from those who own it.
Cryo - That Doepfer looks interesting. Any good video/audio demos of it you can point us to?
