Hello!

For those who love music produced under the Platipus label, go check their new website, it's been launched recently and it has a nice layout.

www.platipus.com

There's a forum too, kinda empty so far =)

Anyone else here loving artists such as Art of Trance, Terra Ferma, Moogwai..???

Platipus Records kicks ass..
My favourite track has got to be the man with no name remix of Octopus.. (does anyone know any other tracks which have the same feel as this one, psychedellic but with a slightly understated uplifting line.. )

Hmm, Platipus used to be really wicked a few years ago. Lately they changed their releases a lot and moved towards fluff / progressive / deep trance ... don't like their new sound.

Smoking ..umm..something ahhhh memories

Just a little trip down memory lane,
way back in the year of 96, when I was but a young lad strolling throught the music store, looking for something new, something i'd never heard before, i spy upon the floor this crazy 2cd album dropped on the floor, picked it up, the cover was crazy, did recognize any artists, but i bought it anyhow, got home, popped it in, and spent the next two hours being blown out my mind, never heard anything like it before......just surreal, didn't know what to do with myself, all i knew was that i needed more

the tracks......just pure solid trance
the album.......Platipus Records, the Ultimate Dream
collection
[poltergeist, union jack, art of trance]

That was my first ever injection of trance, and I've never been the same, and i've never looked back.

Sorry, just felt like sharing that special memory with you all.

Thanks Platipus, thanks!

I started with their second release on CD back in 96 too, was sooo cool..hehe

I agree it changed a lot though..but it's like everything.
I still appreciatye their music a lot, maybe you should check these tracks :

Art of Trance - Madagascar
Moogwai - Viola [Original Mix]
Moogwai - Viola [Armin Van Buuren Mix]
Terra Ferma - The Adventures Of
Terra Ferma - The Wolf
Terra Ferma - Teeth of The Jungle
Z2 - I Want You
Art of Trance - Breathe [Cygnus X Remix]
Art of Trance - Breathe [Dawnseekers Remix]

If you didn't listen to those, you can't talk about the latest sound of Platipus
Sorry, i just feel like defending them :-)

Although I respect your opinion, I think they have been growing in the right directions as of late. They have recently released a new "sub-label" Gekko and the last couple vinyls I have picked up on the Platipus label have been damn strong. One in particular, Vicious Circles, soooooo nice. It's most likely because I have been taking a liking to the progressive as of late
