My vote was:
1. Arty - Around The World
2. Orjan Nilsen - Between The Rays
3. Gareth Emery & Ashley Wallbridge - Mansion
4. Ferry Corsten - Check It Out
5. Sander van Doorn ft. Carol Lee - Love Is Darkness
Ferry was a bit of a sympathy vote..
Kinda surprised I didn't had a track from Armin or Above & Beyond. But I kinda liked their tracks from previous years better.

Didn't vote. Couldn't ID a track if my life depended on it although I know all these well. Really don't care about individual tracks but rather the overall experience a DJ creates. That said, and I love trance, the only track I like out of those is the SvD track which I love. The Orjan Nilsen - Between The Rays is OK. The Arty is vomit. Hate that shit. The Gareth and Ferry track I would rather forget. So much bad trance being produced/played by DJ's I use to love Still plenty out there I like though.

Re: ASOT Tune of the Year 2011
If I had to pick one song that reminds me most of 2011, it would be "Sinners" by Markus Schulz. It came out early this year, but I heard it soooo many times and I absolutely adore it.

haha, come on.. it's not that bad.. I also have a lot of good memories of the 90s and early 00s and I wouldn't mind hearing something like this again:
But not everything that's new is bad.. I mostly included tracks that I have good memories with, such as Armins opening at EZoo with Mansion:
But I liked both other tracks that have been mentioned (Arcane - Somewhere and Markus Schulz - Sinners)

For those folks who have been living under a rock for the last year
5. Sander van Doorn ft. Carol Lee - Love Is Darkness
I was a bit disappointed by both SvD and Arty this year. I thought they both dominated 2010, but this year the only song of theirs that I liked was "Timezone" by SvD.

At least last time you Brits got pissed off, we got punk music out of it. This time, it'll probably just end up being embers breaks

Yeah, it's been a dry spell for me to find tracks I really like. I still support Armin, Markus and Ferry and have fun at their shows but all of their productions over the past 1 (probably more) year(s) haven't been my cup of tea.
The only tracks on the ASOT voting list I liked were Mike Foyle's Headrush and his remix of Avernus - Sirya.
I haven't been listening to all of the ASOTs so really don't know all of the tracks Armin's been playing but I'm surprised Basil O'Glue's Angular Momentum was not on there. That is probably my favorite track of the year. Brings back the old Coldharbour sound that I haven't heard in Markus's productions for a while. I wish he would go back to producing that style of music.
