Nice. Inexpensive and east to install on an existing monitor. It doesn't look responsive enough to me but they are heading in the right direction. Looking forward to seeing this refined over the next few years.

What is the point of using touch screen if its just to replace the mouse.

Get yourself a gaming grade mouse and you can do things at least 10 times faster than the person in the first video.

Not to mention actually touching the screen blocks part of your view.

I don't know why people think this is the future.

A mouse can only adjust one parameter at a time, generally speaking, not to mention carpal tunnel syndrome, etc. My iPad and controller apps have replaced most of my mousing and, believe me, it's far more efficient for many (but not all) tasks.

...and you have to be within arm's reach of your monitor. I personally like to keep my monitors further away than that. YMMV, of course.

That's kind of more of a limitation with software, than with hardware to a degree. Ableton has some effects that can be manipulated on the XY scale so you can adjust two parameters simultaneously. The most notable one being the grain delay.

i love the ipads but they aren't really screens for me. Just controllers. Honestly, the thing i have with touchscreens is dirt, YOu have to keep your hands clean, and you have to santitize them every few hours. And really when you think about it, until men stop jerking off all the time, it is hard to see touch screens replacing anything at the moment.

Yeah, or you can group multiple tracks and adjust them at once in some DAWs, etc. But, working with something like V-Control Pro or a dedicated MIDI controller app on a tablet is different and *more* like (i.e., not exactly) using an actual console because you can just put your fingers on the sliders, pan controls, plugins, etc. and adjust them independently on the fly without having to set up XY relationships, channel groups, etc. (which you can also do from some of these controller apps). As L4C mentioned, yes it's really just working as a controller, but it bridges the gap between QWERTY/mouse and touchscreen DAWs.
