To be honest, the "question" is a bit cryptic.

Use your ears, they will tell you where the level needs to be.

um 0 ? Unless you are in a car or noisy environment. You should be able to accommodate pretty much all music as your own hearing headroom is 130 dB which is more than any recording.

but to answer your question. Left quarter turn or 2 clicks. No more. No less.

sorry been a long week

What i mean is that with the track volume control for each track does it remain close to the central position of 0 give or take + or - a few depending on the choice of sound.

prob doesn't make any more sense does it?

I guess what im getting at is that that the increase and decrease in volume increments should only be subtle i shouldn't have to drag my track volume slider all the way down or all the up for it to be audibly correct?

prob still makes no sense

H always thought you want your track master volume to be as close to 0db as possible. so that would mean all of your individual mixer channels should get as close to the 0db range as possible within the range of audibility you want for the individual sounds (ex. percussion, bass, synths....etc).

not saying this is the correct way. its just what i have read
