I have Posted a screenshot of everybody I have interviewed for this movie. There are many more interesting people with great stories about the evolution of Belgian dance music. I would like to interview them all !
But that would take so much more time ;-) and unfortunately there were hard decisions to be made for making a 90 minute film.
There are 27 interviews with some of them almost 4 hours... in length.
We took our time to look for the best way to tell the story of the sound of Belgium and we are almost there.
but we are still looking for original footage because our television stations were only interested in the belgian nightlive when they could film one of the many razzias taking place.
if someone can point us in the right direction of great images feel free to do so !

Cool, I'm looking forward to it. Belgium still has many awesome clubs. 90 minutes seems not enough to me.
The old clubs like Cherry Moon, La Rocca, Versuz (Dockside), Montini Club (Montini closed in 2008 and Real last year after 35 and 45 year!!) should have old footage.

you gotta put in Belgian Resistance by Sharpside - a Belgian dance outfit i believe.
and have the words come up on screen "Belgian Resistance" as the haunting synth plays out...
check it out - it starts at 1:28, you can hear it breathe!
awesome stuff. this particular cut comes from a Danny Tenaglia CD, Back to Basics i think
also Spirit Catcher are Belgian... gotta put something about them in, there productions are immense... some great funky synthy stuff.
a random tune, too many belters to choose from, i have most of their stuff... legendary.
fuck it, another one... too good

Cool trailer
Other interviews to include would be people from R&S Records and Bonzai Records I guess (If you haven't already). Marnik and Laurent (from Bonzai) should be easy to get hold of.

To me the sound of Belgium is not only tracks made in Belgium, it's more the tracks they played in Belgium clubs. In the early 90's they were pretty hard too, check Franky Jones at Youtube.
Dominator e.g. was a much bigger hit in Belgium than in the Netherlands.
@2:14 ?? @6:46 yeah
But you don't really need the old footage as the current shows how it was in the 90's, pretty dark:
Sound of C, 20Hz, but also Plastic Dreams were awesome back then and played grey...
