pretty incredible vibe down here, a mini Ibiza or Miami but with more beach-centric events and far less commercialism, less costs. Having the Caribbean Ocean as a backdrop doesn't hurt either.. and because this event is during winter, I think the promoters have struck a gold mine that hopefully doesn't get too too big, but too many good things are in place right now for it not to be.
For you Montrealers, I would describe the crowd as very Stereo and Piknic like but with tinges of Beach Club too, so you see everything down here. But keep in mind the event is an international one, in a Latin American country so it is also a very worldly mix of ppl as well.
I saw Lawler and Burridge on Tues, they both brought it big time, both also sprinkling some latin flavour in their sets for appropriate measure. Also caught some Carlo Lio and Dubfire but missed out on Guy Gerber. Digweed was AMAZING on the beach and tonight it is Lee Foss, Richie Hawtin and Dirty South at different venues. I'll write something a little more indepth when I catch up on some sleep. |
