but then again... I think this is where the line is drawn between uplifting/melodic trance fans... and progressive trance fans... because i definitely categorize him as being a progressive artist...for he has no buildups.. his tunes are usually on the same level all the way through making his tunes boring... WE need buildups.... pauses... and take offs... We dont even need a pause... A simple buildup would do..

no i think your definition of progressive and mine are two different things... Progressive is not uplifting...for it stays the same tone/pitch all the way through the song...Uplifting is exactly how it sounds... it lifts you up to another level!!

what the fuck am I hearing? lol
Ok your entitled your opinion, but back the fuck up. Be careful were your going with this. PVD is the god of angel epic trance, granted his newer production stuff has been more toned down, however it is an acquired taste, and let me tell you, that album was meant to be played fucking loud. If you hear those tracks live, which fortunately I have, they are incredible.
As far as him being progressive, not really. Maybe more progressively, but that is trance man. Now before insulting the hand that feeds you understand that Paul Van Dyk live is incredible. You can't describe how he manipulates the crowd. The experience this guy has on the wheels is incredible.
You can distinctly recognize the bass control this guy has, not to mention how you have to pick yourself off the ground after about 5 mins. PVD at a rave fucking blows the roof off man. You have to see him to understand. My friend said the same thing about him and his production style then I found myself scooping him off the floor with a shovel. lol
Out there and back is not the definitive trance album of the century, but be careful who your talking about. Our founder if you will. lol

Like i said.. I never heard any of his sets.. but i have heard his productions and they are very average... In fact I have his vorsprung dyk technik remixes 92-98 and it blows!!! So i guess i can say i dont even like his music selections.. I guess its a matter of taste... but to each is own.. The only tune he had on there that was decent was bt- flaming june.. which im not big on him either..Download some airscape, armin, or vincent de moor, and u may change your mind..And if you dont like them.. then it is definitely a matter of taste...for they are in a different league!!!!Name one tune by paul van dyke that is a 10, for i can make a list for the artist i named..
