Question Club dress codes

I'm making the long trek over from Bristol in England to Miami with the missus for Winter Music Week. My main concern is what clothes to pack. I'm not hitting Ultra, just the fringe events: club nights, boat parties, beach parties etc.

I've been reading that clubs in Miami require shirt/shoes. Will this be the case for Miami Music Week? Here in the UK, nobody wears shirt/shoes when going to listen to EDM such as house and techno. It's all jeans/tshirt/trainers. Pretty much anything goes as people are there for the music rather than being on some kind of jumped-up VIP, to be seen, celeb-mingling jaunt.

Basically, I was wondering if this kind of attitude will be adopted by door staff for Miami Music Week, or will me and the missus be able to waltz on in with casual attire? It'll be a pain in the balls if I have to bring a suit because not only am I limited on suitcase space, it's not massively comfortable to stomp in.

Thanks in advance for the information.

I usually always wear jeans and a t shirt with sneakers that are r somewhat fashionable...of course that's for a club night

i'd say 97% of the parties you would be fine with that dress. Jeans are fine anywhere.

LIV is one place that comes to mind that they might be a bit more strict on the dress code and a shirt with a collar and shoes that are a bit dressier than trainers would be preferable.

For boat parties, pool parties, beach parties, about any other party you'd go to, no dress code at all.

Also Set is known for their strict door policies. Space you will be fine with a t-shirt and trainers. Even Mansion is pretty lax with their dress code during the week.

wmc is always more laid back. liv + set are the only two you really should have to worry about. space you can even get in with shorts and flip flops during conference. but seriously, do us all a favor and go back your hotel to shower and change.

I got turned away before at Mansion for showing up to S&D wearing cargo shorts. Had to leave back to the condo and change. Thankfully it was only a few blocks away. The doorguy let me cut the line when I got back and ushered me in.

That was nice of him.
