Remix vs. the Original

So this is kind of a weird thread topic, but I'm talking about two tracks, the original and the remix of it, which are both great songs, but sound almost nothing alike aside from very small parts that are used in the remix.

I was just listening to this artist's playlist on my iTunes, and these two tracks came on back to back, and until that one tell-tale giveaway from the original, the remix sounded like an entirely different track.

Yeah, well, the vocal samples are clearly the same. And the chords are the same. But I agree, otherwise, they're not exactly similar, which I guess does meet the standard of a proper "remix."

I suppose these are totally different... Different tones, for sure.
