Today I was listening to an old 14 hour set from someone from the almost deceased NLTA subforum, and I suddenly heard this simple yet very effective riff from the intro of Gouryella - Tenshi. And maybe it's nostalgia, but it's such a great little riff. It never gets tired, and together with the bass key change, it's just sublime IMO. Then later an extra melody joins in and the intro is just amazing. From 1:28 onward:

Corsten has always been making pretty good riffs.

the best melodies are mostly older ones and whilst some may think they might be a bit cheese-like they were better than most of what we have now
to name but a few

Probably one of the best melodies ever in a trance track.
