Nice thread... I was gonna post something like this

Anyways, I'm in the designing stage... I'm gonna get a desk built, but was just wondering what you find more comfortable... a master keyboard under the desk like armin (see his studio at arminvanbuuren.com) or a keyboard just to the right or left of your sequencer (pc in this case). May seem like a dumb question, I know, but I'm really not sure how comfortable a keyboard would be under a desk and would like to know if anyone has any experiences with this.

Nice Pic, what sequencer do you use? Are the speakers ok being under the desk? I mean, dont you loose a lot of the high?

indeed, I'd rather have the speakers on ear-height, but there's just no room for them! Anyways, I can live with the sound I get now, if I'm in doubt I can always use headphones for reference.

As a sequencer I use Cakewalk 3.0

yups I got one second hand 2 weeks ago, very clean, very bright, and not much noise, so I'm happy! Gonna take it live in 2 weeks so we'll see how it does.

Congrats!

I'm on the look for a new bigger mixer with better noise level. Right now I got a behringer MX8020A which is a bit shabby, I think it has been a demo or something.. hmm, still had to pay full price. Bastards!

Anyway, what I need the most is a soundcard with better ins and a lot less latency. Right now I have to record everything I do in to my minidisk .. it's more job pluss it sounds not so good. I would go for the Audiophile card if it wasn't for that I had AMD prossecor.. audiophile apperantly got some problems with AMD or something. You know any Audiophile alternatives?

I dont have newhere to host pics so this will have to do 4 now.

Midi:
Midiman Oxygen-8 OUT to Midiman 2x2 Midisport IN
Midiman 2x2 Midisport OUT to Virus C IN
Virus C OUT to Midiman 2x2 Midisport IN

Audio
Virus C 4 OUTS to Delta 44 4 INS
Delta 44 2 OUTS to 2 M-Audio SB8 Monitors

I run it all live n only sample the virus 4 things like bass or fx. As a sequencer i use Reason and Cubase 5 running along side each other using Rewire on my just bought PC which is an XP2200 AMD with a gig of DDR RAM. On this system i can run it at 16ms latency but it used to be a lot more on my old comp. It would be nice to have another 2 inputs on the soundcard so i could capitlise on the virus c 2 unused outputs but its not really a problem as the virus multipart mode is very flexible and allows almost full use of its onboards effects for each part. Ill post a photo when i get the chance.

Get a delta 44, it runs at 8ms latency and works fine with my AMD. I did have a Quattro but its more bother than its worth, it didnt work with cool edit pro 2 and i didnt wana change wave editor.

here's my setup:

i didnt feel like differentiating (spL?) between the ins / outs etc, but you get the idear.

I've got my mixer (with 2 turntables, and a CD player plugged in) and my supernova running through my delta 44, which runs out to my amp, which powers the speakers and the sub.

I also recently got a dual monitor video card, so Im using an old crt along with my LCD. It's not the best looking, but its nice being able to have double the monitor space when working with programs like reason. 1 monitor has the timeline, one has the rack.
