Ok, so i just heard this set and it was a good one. However, i think after Eternal Light + Ain True Love you should have played more banging tracks instead of Nothing, kinda killed the flow for a bit in my opinion. You should have go straight to tracks like Klopfgeister - Good Bye Goa (CJ Art Remix), but well that's just me.

Don't be afraid to drop the TRANCE tunes after those 'ambient' progs

Overall i enjoyed this set

Thanks very much for your comments!

On the night, the dancefloor was pretty dead up until the second hour (people turned up about the time I started this re-construction), but people were just standing around really. Dropping the familiar vocals of 'Nothing' was my attempt at a floor filler, to get everyone moving.

It didn't have as big an impact as I hoped for - the tune that really set it off was 'Cherokee' :-)

Cherokee is a trademark JOOF track, and has been playing it consistenly for over a year. Not sure why you would drop that.
Also ending with one of his tracks.. big no no, even if it is a remix.

I take your point. I didn't plan to play either of them, and if I'd thought in any great depth about it beforehand I may not have played Cherokee. However, as I said above I was despirately thinking of a tune to get everyone dancing at the time and a well known tune with a big bouncey bassline seemed like the perfect idea - it worked too! Granted there was every chance JOOF might have wanted to play it later too, so perhaps it would have been better to choose something else, but you only have a couple of minutes to make these decisions.

I don't see any problem with ending on the DSP remix of Finding Ganesha though. It doesn't sound anything like the original, and it's so slow that there was no chance John would have ever played it in his closing set. I think that looks way worse on paper, but noone would have batted an eyelid in reality. Again, at the time it just felt like a good track to play.
