iPad/iPhone Android phone/Tablet app recommendations, son
Inspired by movie recommendation thread...
An app for your smartphone is like an asshole - chances are you got one or you know someone who got one. So, recommend/warn away.
Recommend:
Obviously, the obvious ones out of the way first:
Pandora
Skype
Facebook
Google Earth
Netflix
Showtime on Demand
Angry Birds
Kayak
Sling Player
Moving to less obvious ones:
2X - best damn damn RDP client and it's free! If you work with Windows and/or want to have windows on your iPad - setup your Win7 system to allow it to be remotely controlled, load up 2X on your ipad and get your Win7 desktop on your iPad. Faaaaaaaantastic!
Osmosis - very cool and very chill game, especially if you're the kind that enjoys planets, trippy apps, etc. Great for a come down/chilling. Sadly, too short and gameplay gets a bit repetetive after a while. So, only for those moments when time seems to stretch indefinitely.
Wireles Keyboard Mouse - if you have a Mac/PC that you use for media center, connected to TV - this app will allow you to use it as a remote keyboard and mouse. Wooot!
Air Display - for $10, use your iPad as an extra display. Got 3 displays? Make iPad your 4th. Also useful to mirror what's going on on your screen but with touchability. Cool app.
Notability - great app for writing down notes, with recorder feature. Good for meetings/lectures/etc. Only $0.99 - worth much more.
Animoog - Awesome, fat and lush synth by Moog. 'nuff said.
Korg iElectribe - bought it back when it was $10 - nice toy, if you're Electribe fan/like making beats.
What do you recommend?
