All Fruity users know this awesome 404-sound in Fruity. But what about Reason? There's no 404?
Any ideas how to get that 404-style sound with Reason? Any ideas/advices? Or that TB303 (I think it's basiclly same as the 404).

The best software for making the tb-303 sound that I'm aware of is rebirth. Then, you can use rewire which comes with reason and hook rebirth up to reason so they work together. Alternatively, you can export the sounds from reason and rebirth to a seperate sequencer. But apart from that, I've found that the 303 emulation in reason is nowhere as good as it is in rebirth

I've got a couple of wannabe-tb303 patches for both Malström and Subtractor.
They sound OK but (naturally) nowhere near as good as the real thing.
it is truthfully the best TB 303 emu out there, compared to all the other soft/hard ones that have been made

I think rebirth is pretty cheap. And apart from being used for emulating 303's, it's a great drum machine. If you ligitmately buy the program, then you have free access to all the mods, which gives you, almost like a sound bank like in reason.
Yeah, rebirth isn't just 303 emulation like i said, it also emulates the 808 and the 909

So it is good also for drum-sounds? Nice How about some lead-sounds? Or is Rebirth more like drum-303sound-machine?

No good for lead synths.
It has:
2 x tb-303 synths
1 x tr-808 drum machine
1 x tr-909 drum machine
1 x filter
1 x distorter
1 x compressor
1 x delay
the mods give you different sounds for the 808 and 909, so it acts kinda like reason in a way. The recording procedures are kinda wack but once you figure it out, you realise that the way its set out is actually quite useful for tweaking the 303's.

no good for lead synth unless you are:
Kai Tracid
Libra presents taylor (calling your name)
Ayla
Kosmonova ( Take me away )
an acid producer
...
Rebirth is also useful for some really fucking good
special lead sounds
(...but probably not for a rank 1 pad...)
