HEY Y'ALL, NEW TRANCE TRACK NEED FEEDBACK: starv - ????????
This is a little ditty I've done up. It's not polished, and I have no clue what I'm doing but I'm enjoying teaching myself a bit about daws and whatever other VST / computer malarky. Just looking for some feedback to help the process along.
I like it. Judging from the songs you tout in Music Discussion, it's something I would expect from you, as a producer. Still sounds like you're developing it and it seems like you worked yourself into a corner, in the end.
My only criticism is with the kicks, as they seem a little muddy. I'm one to talk as mine tend to have a certain (often unintentional) opacity to them, as well, but you might look at shelving and cutting the bass on them, rolling forward. I genuinely like what you've started, though.
Thanks guys, I'm really enjoying even the really rudimentary stuff I've been working on. It seems to get a lot easier the more time you spend with the software. I'd like to some day play around with some hardware.

Nice, I really love this type of music. The opening sounds are great, with that little noise/dust sound to it. Really good programming of the cymbals at the end, sounds hypnotic. Looking forward to hearing the finished product.

I'm really liking what I hear with this so far, sounds like you have a fair idea on what you're doing. Do kind of agree with Eddie on the kicks, they're pretty heavy on the lows to my ears but apart from that it's sounding great and would love to hear where you go with this eventually.

thanks for the feedback guys. When I relisten to it I really dislike it, but that always happens with me when I work on projects. I basically reset all the channel levels and shit so I can do a mixdown on what I've got. Been doing a lot of reading on levels and stuff like that which is helping, and just having to go back and retool certain things and samples is helping a lot as well.

I actually don't have a problem with the kick being to muddy. It fits in this kind of mix. I would in fact suggest you to dampen the hihats a bit, especially the ones that come in on 2:50.
Other than that, I kinda liked it. If it was put in the right context, I would even go as far as to call it great.
