If you were forced to use one synth for the rest of your life, what would it be? Why?

A lot of great synths do only a few things perfectly, and offer so much value in a collection. Best doesn't automatically mean robust, which is the focus of this question.

So I'm curious if people consider any synth so exhaustively robust (practically limitless array of unique sounds) that using it alone wouldn't be a constraint in any sense. If you have a main pick for both hardware and software, feel free to share. If you want to namedrop runner-ups that would also be acceptable.

If feel this is impossible to answer (not impractical), or that at least two or n synths are needed at the least, then please say so.

If this has been done before, pardon the repost and absolve me of any guilt, I looked for it.

1 synth, probably a Jupiter8 or a Memorymoog, maybe a DSI poly synth. I could make all percs, bass, pads etc with one of these. Plus I've come to the realisation I'm in love with dusty sounds.

From my limited experience, Synth1.

Virus TI. Never needed a VSTi as a supplement. It also needs the least amount of work to get it sitting in the mix from all the other VSTi's and synths I have. It's also the best synth for programming to me. If I'm looking for a sound that I have in my head or that I heard in a track, I can replicate it within 5-10 minutes usually.

It's been my #1 synth for 7+ years and it has withstood the test of time so far as still being the #1 synth for me

I'd probably go Omnisphere as well as it has the sample based stuff too, although perhaps Alchemy, but then that doesn't come with the instant gratification of one billion presets. Plus it can do all the VA stuff as well.

hmmm... choices like this are hard. With software I'd also probably go with reaktor as it's probaly the most versatile, if not would be alchemy as it's still very flexible and a bit easier to work with.
I only really want a hardware modular, probably a more recent doepfer or macbeth system where I could be free to add modules as I please.
