The Oatmeal vs. Funnyjunk
The back story on this is that, about a year ago, Matthew Inman (AKA The Oatmeal) found that the Funnyjunk site had taken a bunch of his comics and re-hosted them on their own site without credits, and were making money off the ads etc. There was a bit of back-and-forth, but eventually he just said "fuck it" and ignored it.
A year later, the Funnyjunk site is suing him for defamation, to the tune of $20,000.
His response, aside from being fucking hilarious is that he will:
a) Raise $20,000 in donations
b) Take a photo of that raised money, and
c) Mail that photo to them, along with the following picture of "your mom seducing this Kodiak bear"
In one day he's raised over $117,000. He'll be donating it to the National Wildlife Federation, and the American Cancer Society.
