voice alterations

Hey, was wondering if there is anything out there that can alter voices. I know of autotune but i don't think this is what i'm really after.

I want to be able to record my voice and have it altered so it sounds like a robot style voice. Or alternatively, if there is any software out there where you can type into it and have it speak back to you in some weired voices.

I just really want to get some good robo-style vocals for my new track but my voice sounds like shite.

Thanks, cheggy.

There's a few options. To modify your own voice, you can use a vocoder. Fusion makes a decent one. You could also use Steinberg's Voice generator/processor for some really wacked-out results. If you want a program that you type stuff into, try AnalogX SayIt (it's free - get it at www.analogx.com). It's a great little voice emulation program that sounds like old sci-fi computer voices. There's a vocoder there too, but I've never tried it.

Try that OrangeVocoder, it's quite cool And even CoolEdit can do som robot-style to your voice (but vocoder is naturally better). Or if U have eJay...
