Dean Richardson - Are you going to love me

started producing trance a little while ago so this is pretty much my first project in this genre, would love some feedback good or bad, its all welcome.
i've played about with cubase for a while now but only just starting to take it seriously with regards to mixing down eqs, compression etc...
so any feed back on the mixdown and the clarity would be great.
thanks

The way you write bassline and mix kick reminds me a lot of Simon Patterson or even the Hard House style of writing.

The current format of the track is a bit standard, but the idea is very well concieved and you can tell that this could be so much more with the right touches.

You jump in to the main part of the break down very quickly, and I would have liked to have been eased into it a bit more.

I think your kick is just a little bit too over powering in the mix, but given the style not by much.

I would like the pad work to be a little bolder in the breakdown as its a bit limp at the moment, they seem to be more of a token gesture than a feature as it stands.

A lot of stuff comes in with a kick and crash rather than a slow developement, and I would like to hear a bit more filter work.

It has nice drive, and has great potential as a late night trancer.

Nice work so far, and thanks for sharing.

Cheers
Nem

Hello!

As you're at a level far beyond mine I can only say that the track sounds very well produced and to my ear everything sounds balanced and just fine fine

but yeah, take advice from more seasoned people more seriously I reckon

And if this is your first track.. Keep up the good work!

cheers for the feedback guys, its much appreciated, its funny you should say about it reminding you of a hard house written kick/bass as thats what i was doing before i got into trance, i guess it will take me a while to drop some of those traits still!
i was listing back to this yesterday and totally understand what you mean about everything being introduced with a crash and kick, again that is something i was used to doing with a hard house track!
im going to try and get back on it this weekend and sort that out, and sort my breakdown out, i agree its in need of a pad section that isnt just filling in some space behind the piano.
again thank you for the advice and feedback as i know this is only my first post on here so much appreciated, and rest assured i'll try and give other tracks on here some feedback once my production is more up to scratch!
