more significant to the scene - trance or house

I personally believe house is more important more historically, but perhaps thats because i live in chicago, a big house city. I still like trance, but im just a bigger (word?) fan of house. I believe it began the electronic scene, and was then perfected by trance. Now house has made a comeback, and I think it feels a little more underground, as more mainstream people are incorperating trance music with songs that they have heard on the same radio station that plays J-LO and the Backstreet Boys. But this brings up another point brought up before, and that is, would you feel better if trance expanded? Because alot of people complain that "trance is not understood," or "how come so few people listen to trance?" Well, lets pretend that over the next ten years, trance is so popular, that all other musical genres are just minorities. Truthfully, i wouldnt enjoy it, having all these phonies infiltrate my scene. But then is that being greedy? ANYWHOO... I think its all about keeping the scene underground (BTW, i think the ravers in those gigantic european rave videos look so ridiculous. once again, i dont want to sound rude, but i havent seen many of those women with blue hair and outrageous clothing at a house club)

Sorry for being so political, but i was in a serious mood, and im interested in the culture and it's protection =D

(BTW - dont get used to this, im usually a fucking maniac)

Definetly house, because (at least in my opinion) sounds more "normal" (in popular culture terms)

House is by far more popular. It does vary from place to place, but ultimetaly it is house. Sadly enough.
However, what does it matter? Cause most of us on TA are influenced more by trance then we ever would be by house. I know that's my case, cause I don't even listen to house that much, trance has the bigger part of me... Trance 4 life as they say

Cheers,
