I noticed that Gouryella, 1998 (Gouryella Remix), Where Are You Now, and a few other of Ferry's works during the gateway era all have similar bass lines/synth samples to it.

out of most of them though, I find Gouryella and "Where Are You Now" remix to be his best works of that type of sound IMO.

So I just wanted to ask you guys, which one do you prefer between the two?

I don't know why, but I think I like "Where Are You Now" a bit more than the notorious "Gouryella" Gouryella is great and euphoric, and the buildup to that track is amazing, don't get me wrong, but I think the main melody isn't as good as "Where Are You Now"

maybe it's just me? which track do you like better, and why?

ferry used to have the BEST basslines in trance, without question. the one in Where Are You Now is almost like a psy bassline, except it's not boring

For me it's Where Are You Now, because of the awesome melody and it's even more uplifting.
Probably also because I love those vocals. I think it has more atmosphere compared to Gouryella.
I still have a weak for Tenshi and Veracocha - Carte Blanche too.
