I'm looking for a solid console to start off with...one that won't break the bank, but one that I won't outgrow too fast.

After taking a look at the different options out there, I'm really considering this one:

Sir, That would be a fine choice to get your feet wet into the DJ game. Has an interface, There are a few options in this price bracket im sure, but they all more or less do the same things, so might as well get this as it looks like it has a nice build quality. I would get rid of the software it comes with, and load up Traktor instead.

You might want to look at the new version of this controller, it has an upgraded audio interface. Balanced outs, but if you're just getting your feet wet, I doubt you would need it.

Ok, thanks. Seemed to have everything I need but I wanted to double check with some people before I spend the money.

If you plan on getting some nice speakers in the future, I would get the RMX 2, its more future proof for you, might save you some money in the long run. I really like the input level meters near the faders. Looks much better overall too, SWAAGGG.

There's like a quiet hint of the 80's in the design of those. Me likey. Haven't tried them out yet, but I own a similar controller (NI Kontrol S2) and it should be more than enough to keep you occupied for a few years.

There are also loads of controllers you could combine with the RMX, if you want more knobs/faders etc.

Also, Traktor all the way. Just had a play around with the new 2.6 version right now, it's pretty sweet, and has some new FX and a cool "flux" function.

I would consider a Reloop Digital Jockey 2 Interface Edition 2.0

Why is that? Build quality looks worse, the interface is worse quality. I would stick with the RMX2.

Maybe look into the Pioneer WeGo? The build quality looks better. IDK though, these midi controllers seems to only really get good at around the $500 range.

I looked into that NI Kontrol S2 and it looks pretty awesome. 5 star reviews on Amazon. Only thing I'm wondering is since it comes with a full "pro" software version, and the others don't, is it really $500 worth of hardware? Or is the software a good chunk of that price?

If the RMX 2 can do everything the Kontrol S2 can do (which I honestly don't know if it can since I'm no expert) and lets just say I know a guy who knows a guy who can get me a full software version lol, would it be worth it to save the $$$ and go with the RMX2?
