Question

Hi all,
Decided to get a turntable next month. After reading the threads here, I have come to a conclusion that cheaper decks are not going to last me that long. So my decision is to get a Technics.

But my difficulty in deciding is because Technics has so many different range of models(SL1200MkII, SL1200M**, Sl1210...) and I am relatively new to this dj_ing stuff so I would really appreciate all you bros for your time to enlighten me the differences between the various models and your recommendation.....

Thanks and keep trance alive!

the only diffrence between the mk2 and mk3 is the mk3 got a auto pitch reset button while the mk2 does not. everything else is the same.

it's M3D, not MK3

and actually I'd recommend the MK2 rather than M3D because eventually you'll be playing out on the MK2s so you should get used to the pitch fader weirdness around the 0 pitch lock ...

Just grab a MK2, M3D's are exactly the same shit with few adjustments, plus you could save a few bux! Anyhow the wierdness that Skywarp was talking about is that In the GREEN light area on the pitch (0 Quartz Pitch Lock) the quartz crystal is the most unstable in that area, so what it does I believe is fluctuate, I ve noticed this myself because I have tried mixing tracks while I am in the green and no matter what I do it is always slight off and the track will drift off a bit. Anyhow you'll get use to it after awhile, The MK2's are the most commonly used turntable out there so might as well get something that is standard.

1210 is the European version of 1200, it has a voltage switch 115v <-> 230v ...
