vip isnt worth is. unless youre the type who needs to pops bottles at clubs. vip isnt the experience you want at a huge festival.

and shuttles are ridiculous. wait about 30min-hr for the shuttle to come + a hr-2hr ride to get there due to traffic.

gunna go ahead and jump in here to say that
1) the wait for the shuttle depends on the shuttle stop
2) the drive to the venue depends on what time you leave

i have heard nothing but good things about the shuttles for edc, with the exception of a couple people on TA

prob looking at like 15min from circus to the edc.
in june it took me about 90min each day to go from the venetian to edc. if you leave early, you can avoid the traffic and lines. if you leave the strip after about 8 or 9. youre screwed

shuttle = waiting
drive = waiting
getting inside edc = waiting

be prepared to spend 2-3hrs of waiting from the time you leave your hotel, to the times youre inside the speedway.

Either way you go you're fucked.

Getting there, and coming back was a pain in the ass unless you left super early.

The 15 turns into a parking lot, and Las Vegas Blvd is even worse. So if you're trying to go there or leave durring peak times, you're screwed.

I've taken the shuttle the past two years. The first year I went to Mirage pickup all three days, never waited more than a few minutes to get on the bus. We sat in that little tattoo bar and got hammered then walked right onto the bus every single day. We never waited in traffic going to the venue.

last year I went to the Circus Circus pickup every day and never waited to get on a bus or waited in traffic going to the venue the entire weekend.

Coming back is a different story. The traffic is hell, but then again, everyone is in it, so being in the bus or not is meaningless. The only downfall to the bus system is the line to leave the raceway, it is hell for the more populated casino lines. I think I waited about an hour the first two nights, and two hours on the final night.

I think this year I am just going to get in the shortest line that goes to the strip and take a taxi, or walk if it's close enough.

@ EDC 2011, the shuttle was a disaster at Monte Carlo, I ended up driving all 3 days and didn't bother with it this year.

I did hear that things were slightly better organized but still heard complaints from attendees and from people on here.

Apparently, they will have a better direct route in 2013 so I'm kind of on the fence.
